As a paraglider, I’ve spent countless hours suspended over the emerald-green patchworks of Colombia’s finest coffee farms. From that height, you don’t just see the landscape; you see the heartbeat of the world’s best beans.

But the real discovery happened back on the ground.

After a sunrise flight, I was handed a cup of coffee by a local farmer whose family had been tending those high-altitude trees for generations. I expected the usual morning jolt. Instead, I experienced something I’d never felt in a cup before. It wasn’t just smooth—it felt like velvet. It was a rich, sophisticated texture that lingered long after the warmth faded.

That was the “Perk.” That was the “Velvet.”
